CPL
Cost Per LeadPerformanceAdvertising
CPL is the amount spent to generate one lead — typically a form fill, sign-up, or contact submission.
CPL is only as good as the lead-quality definition behind it. A ₹200 CPL sounds better than a ₹2,000 CPL until you learn the ₹200 leads are tire-kickers who never respond to sales outreach, while the ₹2,000 leads close at a 40% rate. B2B teams that report CPL without a corresponding lead-to-opportunity or lead-to-customer rate are reporting half the story.
Watch for "cheap lead" campaigns that game the form itself — overly broad targeting, misleading ad copy, or a form so short it captures unqualified traffic. The fix is usually a stricter lead-scoring definition, not a cheaper CPL target.
