E-E-A-T

Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness

E-E-A-T is the framework in Google's Search Quality Rater Guidelines describing the qualities raters look for when assessing content and site quality.

It's important to be precise here: E-E-A-T is not a direct ranking factor or an algorithmic score Google computes for a page. It's guidance given to human quality raters who evaluate search results as part of Google's process for testing and improving its ranking algorithms. The practical takeaway is still real, though — content written by people with genuine, demonstrable experience and expertise, on sites with clear authorship and trust signals, tends to perform better, because it's also simply better content for readers.

The added "Experience" (the second E, added in a 2022 update) specifically rewards first-hand, lived experience with a topic — a genuine account of having actually done the thing, not just researched and summarized it.

No single standard definition

E-E-A-T is guidance for Google's human quality raters, not a direct, measurable ranking factor computed for every page.
