Click
PerformanceAdvertising
A click is counted each time someone clicks or taps an ad, though platforms differ on exactly what qualifies.
Not all "clicks" are equal across platforms. Meta distinguishes "link clicks" (intent to leave the platform) from "all clicks" (which includes likes, comments, and profile taps on the ad unit itself) — comparing a Meta "clicks" number to a Google Ads click without checking which definition is being used will produce a misleading CTR comparison.
Clicks are the denominator for CPC and the numerator for downstream conversion rate calculations, which is why a platform's click definition quietly affects two metrics your whole team relies on.
