Funnel Conversion Rate
Funnel conversion rate measures the percentage of users who move from one specific funnel step to the next.
This is conversion rate applied step-by-step instead of end-to-end. Ecommerce might track visit → add-to-cart → checkout-started → purchase-completed as four separate step conversion rates. Reporting only the overall visit-to-purchase rate hides which specific step is actually leaking users — a checkout page with a 60% drop-off is a very different, very fixable problem than evenly distributed friction across the whole journey.
Step-level funnel data is where most quick wins live, because a single high-friction step (a broken payment method, a confusing form field, an unexpected shipping cost revealed only at checkout) is usually cheaper to fix than trying to improve every step at once.
