Indexing

Indexing is the process of a search engine analyzing and storing a crawled page so it can be retrieved and shown in search results.

A page can be fully crawled and still not indexed — Google indexes based on judgments about content quality, uniqueness, and value, not just successful access. Search Console's "Page Indexing" report shows specific reasons Google chose not to index a page (duplicate content, noindex tag present, crawled but not indexed due to quality, and others), which is the first place to check when a published page never appears in search.
